About My Clients
I provide individual teletherapy for adults. I am trained as a generalist and enjoy supporting folks with a diversity of needs but we may be a particularly good fit if you identify as: a perfectionist or people-pleaser, a young adult, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, experiencing life or identity transition, and/or distressed by sociopolitical/ecological collapse.
My Background and Approach
I am a relational, humanistic therapist, and I tend to use narrative therapy, feminist therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in my work. In practice, this means that I see myself as a co-creator in the process of therapy and I see the therapeutic relationship as a foundation from which to explore, expand, soften, risk, deepen, and grieve. I try to help clients look closely at the stories they carry about themselves and their lives and, where necessary, infuse those stories with more flexibility, compassion, context, and empowerment. Because our lives are inherently political and shaped by systems of power, this process necessarily involves attention to systemic/sociocultural forces as they appear in my clients’ lives, as well as in the process of therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a human who was socialized into whiteness and exists at the intersection of many privileged identities, I believe the work I do outside of the therapy room (and/or in MY therapist's therapy room)—to shed harmful beliefs, deepen my humanity, advance collective liberation and responsibility, practice moral courage, build community—are critical to my work inside the therapy room. I aspire to center transparency, humility, solidarity, and autonomy as much as possible in my work. I am committed to ongoing, anti-oppressive education and try to apply the following frameworks to my therapeutic practice: harm reduction, anti-carceral, neurodivergent-affirming, and Health At Every Size (HAES).
