About My Clients
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or struggling to feel like yourself after life changes? I support men and women facing stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and to assist individuals as they navigate challenging relationships. I also guide women through perinatal transitions, perimenopause, and menopause, helping them reconnect with inner strength, balance, and self-trust.
My Background and Approach
Since 1998, I have delivered compassionate counseling across residential, inpatient, and outpatient mental health and substance‑abuse settings to adolescents and adults. In 2013, I left the not-for-profit world and founded my private practice, River’s Journey Counseling, to offer a more holistic and energy‑informed therapeutic space beyond traditional insurance driven and deficit focused models. Beyond being an LCPC, I am also a Usui Reiki Master‑Teacher and practitioner, meditation instructor, and life coach; integrating energy psychology techniques such as EFT/tapping, Reiki, mindfulness, and nature‑based practices to foster deeper mind‑body healing and resilience. I blend person‑centered, trauma‑informed therapy with CBT, Jungian shadow work, solution‑focused and strength‑based approaches to help you unravel limiting beliefs, heal emotional pain, and move forward with clarity.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Every generation has it's own challenges, but this last decade has felt incredibly fractured and seemed to create a greater sense of stress and disconnection for so many people. Beyond my education and experience, my own personal healing journey informs the work I do. I believe my values, my beliefs, and my commitment to living a heart led life with integrity also impacts my approach to counseling. I believe we can all benefit from a safe space to explore our worries, fears, and dreams. I am proud to provide a open and nurturing space for clients to do just that. I believe in equality. I believe diversity is what makes life so beautiful and rich. All sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions are welcome in my office. I believe we are stronger; together.
