About My Clients
Do you struggle with adjusting to the changes life is throwing at you? Do you feel overwhelmed with anxiety or grief and feel unsure of what is next for you? Do you wish that you felt more equipped to handle life's challenges and that you were supported as you process through them? So many women are dealing with anxiety, depression, and grief due to entering college, the working world, relational difficulties, or pregnancy and postpartum.
My Background and Approach
I believe that support can make all the difference and that you can heal from your past and find hope for your future. I start by getting to know you as an individual. With space to process through difficult experiences, I offer a trauma-informed perspective that holds out hope for you and gives you skills you can take with you after you finish therapy. Through a collaborative and strengths-based approach, I utilize Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), as well as narrative therapy, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems. I believe that you are the expert of your life and situation and treat each person I work with individually, rather than using a one-size fits all approach. I also believe in the importance of our bodies in our healing and use somatic and body work in sessions. My social work background gives me a lens to see you within your identity and your environment, and acknowledged we are all formed by that.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a huge believer that none of us can or are meant to do this life alone. We are all connected and need each other, and reaching out with vulnerability for help is a strength that will take you into the healing process. I'm an advocate of making the world more accommodating for women, children, and those with disabilities. Outside of the therapy room, I love being outside as long as it's not Georgia summer (which lasts approximately April-October), having controversial opinions about unimportant matters (fences are dumb and ice ruins most drinks), reading (memoirs and historical fiction FTW, the sadder the better), and listening to podcasts.
