About My Clients
I love working with college students (including graduate and international students), or adults of any age seeking a comforting, affirming, and reassuring space to feel validated and to learn insights that truly allow for lasting peace and change in their lives. Clients report that our meetings are like speaking with a trusted friend, and that the sessions became a welcome sanctuary for them to be who they truly are and to express how they really feel.
My Background and Approach
If you have been to counseling before, but it felt sub-par or it seemed like you didn't quite click with the therapist, or felt that they could not handle the concerns or difficulties you were bringing to them, then please be reassured that I have experience in multiple settings and areas of interest. I tend to lean toward humanistic, person-centered, strengths-based, and interpersonal approaches, and to also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical techniques, mindfulness-based CBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Whatever works for you will be tailored to your needs. We will also collaboratively come up with a plan that you feel comfortable with and that allows you to be at the center of your care. I can't wait to meet you!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that no matter what you are facing, once you feel that you are in a safe and trusting environment, you will be reminded of your own inner wisdom, strength, and courage. I think each person has tremendous capacity for new perspectives, hope, and positive pivots in their thinking. Much of what we engage in that can become problematic is a result of us acting from our conditioned self rather than our true selves. I can only do this work because I have experienced many of the things you may be bringing to your sessions. And my intention is to help you navigate whatever brings you to therapy into true healing. Transformation of our pain is entirely possible.
