About My Clients
I enjoy working with kids, teens and young adults who are nerds, gamers, queer, and neurodivergent. My experience with gaming allows me to connect with young people and speak their language. I enjoy helping people navigate life changes and transitions. I am also trained in Brainspotting and use this to work through trauma.
My Background and Approach
I believe that people are experts on themselves. It is my job to provide a safe space for people to navigate hard parts of their lives. If people are feeling stuck, lost, or overwhelmed, I have many tools to help. If people have been through complex trauma or have stress in relationships, I am trained to guide people to a place of healing. Other techniques I use can involve storytelling, playing games, and creating art. We will harness the power of a person’s strengths to reach the goals that they have for themselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the mental health system needs to be decolonized. I deeply value listening to the voices of marginalized people and doing the work that I need to do to unlearn the devastating beliefs taught to us by our society, such as racism and ableism. I believe that therapists should do the work of finding their own genuine selves. I embrace various identities of my own that include queerness and being autigender nonbinary.
