About My Clients
Hi, I am Mary Beth, and I specialize in helping families with queer, lesbian, gay, bisexual, gender creative and trans family members build strong bonds, understand and manage their emotions, and stay true to who they are. I support queer and trans couples, adults seeking a connected life, LGBTQ+ family building and pregnancy, parenting journeys, gender creative kids and allies learning to support LGBTQ+ loved ones and explore identity.
My Background and Approach
I know firsthand what it’s like to face adversity as a child, a parent and a queer woman. I have navigated many counseling experiences as a partner, a parent and a person where well-meaning people couldn’t meet my family’s needs. I wanted something different for myself and I want something different for you. After almost 30 years of practicing, I realized we need a therapy space designed for intentional, forward-thinking and LGBTQ+ families. I have spent the last 28 years building my repertoire of tools with an express focus on relationships, parenting, family and child well-being. I am well-trained in my niche and give the people I work with the highest standard of care. Some of my core training experiences have been in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, Relational Cultural Therapy, Circle of Security Parenting, Expressive Arts Therapy and Child Centered Play Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a queer lesbian in a white body with some known Eurpoean ancestry. I intentionally seek to connect with pre-colonial wisdom in healing, and have created my practice to nurture the nuances of queer and trans experiences and relationships.
