About My Clients

Are you feeling disconnected from your body, partner(s), family, or sense of self? Are you wanting to respond to difficult situations rather than react? Are you experiencing high stress because your body, identities and/or partnerships disrupt harmful societal norms? Have you had traumatic past experiences that you feel ready to confront but are afraid to do so alone? Are you interested in trying out therapy in nature? If any of these questions reflect your current experience, I can support you.

My Background and Approach

I use an integrative somatic approach with clients. This means I ask you to befriend your emotions, bodies, and nervous system so that you can stay connected to the things that matter most to you. I am a direct and compassionate person. I use these personal qualities to promote insight into the many parts of yourself, such as your inner critic. Often times parts of yourself will identify your specific nervous system responses and what they look like. From here, we will start to introduce new ways of being with yourself to create more self-compassion, change, and overall awareness. I also have a background in nature-connection and healing, and I love facilitating therapy outdoors. Therefore, in addition to virtual and in-office sessions, I also offer extended walking and day-hiking sessions outdoors to individuals, couples and groups in the summer and fall months. Nature can highlight somatic experience and be a valuable tool for self-exploration. Let me know you are interested.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My services are embedded in the practice of social justice and the understanding of intersectionality. I believe that everyone has the right not only to be visible without fear but to THRIVE. I believe in equity, transparency, honesty, and humility. I am open to feedback, and I wish to deconstruct harmful systems that may be at play within the therapeutic relationship. Discussing the impact of systems, such as capitalism and race, is a primary focus within my therapeutic approach. Before becoming a therapist, I studied race relations in the American South as well as intersectional feminism during my undergrad in Richmond, Virginia. I have also engaged in community-led activism. I was a cofounder of an arts program for girls and queer youth, and I volunteered redistributing goods and funds at a mutual aid organization. My education and background continue to inform my work as a mental health professional.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
