About My Clients
Safe. Confident. Peaceful. Free. Empowered. These are the characteristics I hope to instill in my clients as they start their journey with me. I work with adults and adolescents experiencing a range of issues, including: mood dysregulation, anxiety and trauma related disorder, relationship issues, communication barriers, grief/loss, and other common life stressors. My approach is holistic and I use various treatment models to help my clients develop coping skills to find healing in their life.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in North Carolina. I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2016 where I earned my Masters in Social Work. My undergraduate work was completed at College of Charleston with a B.A. in Communications. I focus highly on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which can help us examine how our thoughts, actions, and feelings are all interrelated, thus changing our thought patterns can lead to behaviors that are more desirable for us. Most often, it is how we perceive a situation or a struggle that defines how we deal with it or respond to it. I also rely on techniques of the Family Systems and Attachment Based Therapies to provide psychoeducation about how our environment, past nurturing, and family history shape our views of who we are. Other techniques I often use include: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, (DBT), Gottman Method, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Trauma Focused.
