About My Clients
You may be the person others rely on, the helper, caretaker, high achiever, or perfectionist who seems capable but feels overwhelmed inside. I work best with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, ADHD, burnout, people-pleasing, medical trauma, grief, or major life transitions. You may understand your patterns intellectually but still feel stuck in them. Together, we can gently process what shaped you, reduce distress, and help you respond to yourself with greater trust and compassion.
My Background and Approach
I am a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master of Education in School Counseling, a bachelor’s degree in Applied Developmental Psychology, and an MBA. For more than 20 years, I have supported people in private practice, schools, crisis services, family therapy, and adolescent inpatient care. This experience helps me understand how trauma, relationships, family roles, work demands, and life transitions can intersect. I am EMDR trained and pursuing certification through ongoing consultation. EMDR is my primary trauma-treatment approach, and I also draw from Internal Family Systems, ACT, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion. I specialize in trauma, adult ADHD, anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, medical trauma, grief, and women’s concerns. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work with you to understand your patterns, process painful experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people heal best when they feel safe, respected, and accepted, not judged or pressured to become someone else. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodiversity affirming, and I welcome people of all identities, backgrounds, beliefs, and family structures. I value compassion, authenticity, personal autonomy, and curiosity. As a wife, mom of two teenagers, recovering perfectionist, and person living with ADHD and generalized anxiety disorder, I understand how meaningful, messy, demanding, and funny life can be, sometimes all at once. My lived experience also gives me personal insight into overwhelm, self-criticism, and the effort involved in doing things that may appear easy to others. I care deeply about reducing shame and helping people recognize that their needs matter too. Outside of therapy, I enjoy reading, traveling, hiking, concerts, sporting events, family time, and life with our two large dogs.
