About My Clients

I have worked extensively with individuals and couples struggling with eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and sexual intimacy. I am passionate about social justice, and believe it is relevant to all conversations related to healing relationships with ourselves and the body. It is my passion to lead clients towards deeper connection and acceptance with their body so that they can get back to living a fuller and more present life than ever before. Body insecurities, criticisms, and in

My Background and Approach

My orientation with both couples and individuals is collaborative, relational, trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, psychodynamic and attachment-focused. All bodies, races, genders and forms of relationships will be welcome in my practice. After receiving my B.A. in Communication at UC Davis, I worked with patients receiving early onset psychosis diagnoses at the UC Davis SAC EDAPT clinic until beginning my Masters at Alliant International University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have completed Gottman Method trainings Levels 1 and 2 and use the Gottman method, psychodynamic, and person-centered theories when working with couples struggling with intimacy, communication, and trust building.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Hi! I'm Martha (she/her/hers). My practice is a welcoming space for people of all genders, races, body sizes, cultures, and sexual orientations. While I myself, am a CIS white woman, I actively address and work at deconstructing my privilege every day (something I know I will never be done with)! I am in an interracial relationship myself, and love working with couples coming from different racial/cultural/economic backgrounds who are exploring their differences and understanding how it affects their partnership. I will always do my best to ensure you feel accepted, cared for and seen, but I will always be open to feedback or being called in if I were to slip up. Please book a consult and ask any other questions you have about me or my beliefs. It's so important for you to feel safe and seen by your therapist, so please be picky when choosing yours, and ask me the things that will make you feel confident in our relationship moving forward.
