About My Clients
There’s a common misconception that young children typically don’t have complex feelings and emotions. However, little people and teens can have BIG feelings! Whether it be anxiety about the future, depression from isolation post pandemic, or frustrations in the home or school setting, these feelings can be overwhelming for kids!
My Background and Approach
I have an M.S. in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College where much of my training focuses on children and adolescents. I utilize play therapy in order to create a safe space, bond with your child, and help them find the tools to work through their struggles. Additionally, I operate from the strength’s based approach and focus primarily on your child’s/your family’s greatest strengths and positive attributes. This is important in order to instill a sense of hope in your child/family, which truly is what Amel is all about! Hope is an essential ingredient to motivate the client to be active in treatment! If you would like to explore the option of therapy for your child or family, schedule a free 15-minute consultation now.
