About My Clients
Whether you're dealing with stressors from work, a recent breakup, peer/parental conflicts, anxiety from your busy schedule or difficulties with a past traumatic experience. Maybe you're feeling extremely anxious and have a tough time prioritizing your schedule which is causing tension in other areas of your life. Perhaps, you're a busy millennial or a teenager who is experiencing challenges in managing your emotions and need some assistance with adding practical skills to your toolbox.
My Background and Approach
I have over 15 years of experience in the field working with GenZ and millennial women. My experience ranges from psychiatric hospital settings, therapeutic group homes, child protection services, international social work, juvenile justice, human trafficking organizations, and public health research. I've completed training in Trauma-Focused CBT and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction which has provided my clients with the tools to help them heal and develop a sense of self, trust, purpose, and meaning.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in create safe spaces for women and teen girls, especially Black girls. As a lover of policy work and committee chair member for NASW, I am very passionate about addressing the disparities in mental health for Black girls. Outside of being a therapist, you can find me hosting workshops/presentations or speaking engagements that focuses on Black Girlhood. I am also a best selling author of The State of Black Girls book which is available on Amazon.
