About My Clients
My clients are individuals seeking to establish and maintain spiritually, physically and emotionally balanced lives. They want to be informed, equipped and encouraged on their path of healing, re-direction, discovery, re-affirmation and rejuvenation. They also appreciate having a safe space and a safe person with whom they can be emotionally honest without criticism, judgment or daggers of guilt, shame and condemnation. My clients value having 90-minute sessions.
My Background and Approach
I am a Clinical Christian Therapist who is passionate about and equipped to help you through a discipling way of counseling. It is a unique approach my clients appreciate and, from which, gain greater confidence. Starting with temperament (think spiritual genetics), I will help you to understand the deepest part of your being, then go beyond the exploration of emotions to deal with issues from your core. You are a uniquely created individual. That means your relationships, your life (your stuff) are all unique and cannot be duplicated. I honor your uniqueness by providing "boilerplate free" care. I do not force "religion" on my clients. I encourage developing a RELATIONSHIP with the only true healer. This encouragement is especially helpful to those healing from church hurt and legalism.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Christian counselor, I believe that hiding my beliefs and trying to do value-free counseling is both unwise and impossible to do, so I want you to know what my important values and beliefs are. Like most counselors, I recognize that personal problems can come about because of physiology, social-environmental influences and psychological pressures. I also believe that many problems can be spiritual in nature. I believe individuals are created in God's image and can only feel complete and fulfilled through relationship with him. I try to reflect the character of Jesus Christ and love my clients as he does.
