About My Clients

Life often takes unexpected twists and turns that leave us and our relationships feeling battle weary. My wheelhouse is working with women who are weary from depression and anxiety, and grief and loss as well as couples who are committed to building healthy relationships.

My Background and Approach

Because learning is a daily ritual, you will benefit as I gain more insights, tools, and humility (as I realize there is always something new to learn). This rests nicely on a foundation of solid academic and clinical training. Every science-based approach that shows up in our sessions is one that I am acquainted with both academically and personally as I integrate the therapeutic approaches into my everyday life and relationships. And then there are times where science sits on the sidelines as we consider how it practically relates to life. Some of the approaches to therapy included: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, The Gottman Method, and mindfulness approaches.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I tend to my needs and make my emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational health a priority. You get a therapist who is better positioned to be rested, fully present, and interested in meeting with you. And unlike many in the helping field, I’ve spent time with mentors and therapists learning about and redeeming the painful parts of my story resulting in hard-won life insights that may be of help to you. Because I've also known pain and am active in acknowledging and redeeming it, I know what it is like to sit across from a therapist. That translates into being able to create a safe space for you - one where you will be respected and your journey will be honored.
