About My Clients
I consider myself to be a strong champion, advocate, and healing force in the lives of the collective LGBTQ+ community. I have an especially strong background working with survivors of trauma and exploitation, as well as dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, addictions, disorders of childhood, family problems, and relationship issues. I have special expertise in working with members of the Native American community and have special training with that population.
My Background and Approach
I use an integrative, individualized, and culturally-sensitive approach so as to tailor treatment to your unique needs. I specialize in healthy relationships (with people and with food) and therefore enjoy working with families and couples as well as individuals that may be recovering from domestic violence or intimate partner violence. My eclectic style draws heavily on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), psychoanalysis, and mindfulness. I believe that each person is the expert of their own life and I value the privilege of being a resource to you on your healing journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an active member of the LGBTQ+ community and feel highly attuned and passionate about the issues confronting our community. I have worked extensively outside of the LGBTQ+ community, though, and feel equally adept at helping clients who are not part of this community. I am passionate about social justice and marginalized groups. My most recent experiences have afforded me the privilege of working with Chicagoland's vast Native American tribal community.
