My Guarantees to you: Guarantee # 1- You will never be cut off at the end of a "45 minute hour session" like most therapists do. I will see you for a full 60 minutes and sessions are never scheduled back to back for this reason. Guarantee # 2- If you desire, I will see you the same day of your initial contact. treated like Guarantee # 3- I offer coaching (up to 15 minutes) free to all my clients to help with the "speed bumps" that can occur in between sessions.
My Background and Approach
Mark works with individuals across all walks of life. He is particularly helpful to clients facing stressful transitions, like retirement, moving to a new city, job loss, or breakup. He is also particularly sensitive to the psychological impact The Covid-19 Pandemic has had on all of us. He helps individuals, families and couples dealing with grief and loss, depression, anxiety and social anxiety in this Post Covid World. Mark's approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the most evidence-based approach that focuses on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. He works to help clients to reframe their cognitive distortions so effective stress management and problem-solving will result. His style of therapy is very much short term and solution focused. Mark's first priority in starting with a new client is ensuring that they feel safe, heard, and like an equal partner in the therapeutic process.

According to ethics of my profession as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I respect and promote the right of clients to self-determination and assist clients in their efforts to identify and clarify their goals. It is my primary responsibility to promote the well-being of clients and will demonstrate understanding of culture and gender identity and its function in human behavior and society, recognizing the strengths that exist in all cultures and genders. And finally, I always respect clients’ right to privacy.
