About My Clients
My ideal client is someone who desires to be engaged in the therapeutic process. Change most often occurs at the level of emotional engagement. I am deeply passionate about creating rapport with my clients so that they feel safe to risk vulnerability in our sessions. My other area of passion and expertise is helping couples identify and eradicate toxic patterns within their relationship. I am EFT trained and have seen the power of this framework help hundreds of clients.
My Background and Approach
I was born and raised in the vibrant heart of New Orleans. As a Jazz drummer, I was fortunate to learn the art of improvisation at a young age. I truly believe this process of listening deeply to others around you to create new melodies informed my worldview of how I am present in therapy sessions. Clients wish to be seen, to be heard , to have agency over their therapeutic work. All good therapy comes from a safe corrective relational experience for the client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe life is not a dress rehearsal. I believe clients already have most of their own answers and just require some “ clarity” from therapy to make more intentional decisions about their lives. I have been personally and professionally inspired by the scholarship of Buddhist psychology. The technologies of this tradition , mindfulness, compassion, and so forth have truly helped clients find a new “ lens” with which to see their struggles
