Depressed mood can come from many sources........ job stress, relationship difficulties, chronic pain, etc. I have over fourteen years working with individuals suffering from chronic pain and job related difficulties that often results in depressed mood and apathy. I also focus in therapy on depressed mood that comes from being out of alignment with your true goals and life path.

With everything going on these days, it seems like everyone is anxious. Anxiety can stem from thoughts as well as physical sensations. In therapy, we focus on where the anxiety is coming from, your responses to your thoughts, and create new, adaptive patterns in response to your internal and external environments. I've treated patients with anxiety for over fourteen years.

Attachment informs all of our relationship patterns and templates. Often these patterns are out of our awareness. Unhealthy attachment can lead to loneliness, depressed mood, anxiety, and hopelessness. Therapy is one of the best places to look at relationship patterns and gain insight and awareness into patterns we might not be aware of.

In addition to Master's and Doctoral level degrees in Clinical Psychology, I also have a Master's degree in Holistic Health Education. I have been focused on Holistic Studies for over thirty years and run Consortium for Holistic Studies which focuses on intersections of the individual and the environment. Having this training helps me look at not only the individual components of mind, body, and spirit but also how you are integrated into your various environments.

All of my education is in the field of Depth Psychology. My doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology has an emphasis in Depth Psychology. What does depth therapy mean anyway....... depth psychology looks to traditions of depth thinkers such as the psychoanalytic, Jungian, and archetypal approaches. This means I'm looking at your individual makeup, patterns, and experiences, but also how your journey relates to broader mythic elements, unconscious factors, dreams, and images.

All of my clinical training was in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. What does this mean? We learned from thinkers such as Freud, Melanie Klein, and Wilfred Bion among others. All of these thinkers developed brilliant ideas and concepts about early relating and how it imprints on our relationship style and patterns. In therapy, we might be looking at how these elements play out in your relationships and communication with others.
