About My Clients
If you are someone seeking a deeper connection with your own internal world, or trying to make sense of overwhelming and painful experiences, I would be honored to aid you in this endeavor. That being said, if you're new to therapy or the idea of unpacking emotional processes, I would also be thrilled to be your first step. Whether you have past experience in therapy or if this is your very first time exploring this world, I am happy to meet you exactly where you are.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is eclectic and flexible. I specialize in (but am not limited to) working with eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and adjustment. I have roots in psychodynamic, existential, and mindfulness modalities, paired with CBT techniques. My style is a blended approach that utilizes strengths from these modalities and is tailored to each specific individual. I prioritize a sense of empowerment and collaboration in my work, and I practice with flexibility and transparency so that the therapy process can evolve and shift to match the development of each individual.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When I was younger, I was told I was sensitive, sometimes even "overly sensitive." It wasn't until I grew older and realized this drive to understand the emotional experiences of myself and others is actually a strength, not a burden. As a therapist, I am compelled to aid my patients in connecting with this internal power even when it presents as pain, fear, or overwhelm. I have worked in a wide breadth of settings, including universities, juvenile halls/prisons, community mental health offices, corporate settings, and private practices. I enjoy working with people of all walks of life, and am passionate about collaborating with my patients to move towards healing, empowerment, and ultimately, peace.
