About My Clients
My clients resonate with my holistic approach, which restores inner balance and emotional regulation, freeing them from painful thoughts and unproductive behavior patterns, and helping them navigate emotional and mental challenges. Remember, your best qualities reflect not only who you are but also who you are continually becoming.
My Background and Approach
Nearly every action requires a leap of faith, which can bring fear and self-doubt and challenge our sense of self. However, I believe we have the ability to navigate the mind’s complexities, draw on the body’s wisdom, and find courage in our hearts. This strength helps us regain clarity during periods of hurt, dissatisfaction, or uncertainty about change. While suffering can leave us feeling hopeless or disconnected, it also reveals our potential to face life’s challenges and pursue growth and healing. With over 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist, healer, and educator, I work with children, adults, families, and couples. I integrate traditional talk therapy with somatic and trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (parts work), embodiment, and mindfulness-based interventions. As an end-of-life doula, I offer compassionate, non-medical support to individuals and families as they face the challenges of terminal illness and the final stages of life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Change and growth define our lives. Even a mental health diagnosis, which only gives a partial picture, is not immutable. Holistic healing of body, mind, and spirit helps us discern all dimensions of our experience and live in line with our deepest intentions. Our unrepeatable nature creates unique possibilities to discover natural wisdom, purpose, and ways to solve problems. Good therapy supports this process and helps us become aware of personal patterns that prevent us from handling challenges, improving relationships, and living a fulfilling life. As a woman of color, I understand how historical and present traumas affect people, communities, and the world. To restore our agency, we must understand how social systems, culture, and environment interact to shape mental health. I have practiced meditation for over 40 years. I have helped many people bring meditation into their busy lives. I am a Reiki practitioner, a nature lover, and an advocate for animal rights.
