About My Clients
If you find yourself navigating grief, identity-related challenges, anxiety, depression, and/or relationship conflict within your family or community, it would be an honor to walk alongside you in your journey towards healing. My clients are folks who are searching for a therapist with whom they can form an authentic and meaningful connection with as they explore pain, loss, and personal growth.
My Background and Approach
I bring a compassionate, client-centered, and relational approach to therapy. I view the therapeutic relationship and meaningful, authentic human connection as central to the change and healing process. I take a holistic approach to therapy, taking time to help clients build self-insight into their emotions, thoughts, patterns, and behaviors to better understand how all of their cumulative experiences, as well as societal and cultural influences, interact and impact challenges they may be experiencing today. I received my Master's degree at CU Denver in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working in hospice as a grief counselor, in nonprofit community mental health, and working with clients of diverse cultural backgrounds and identities. My approach to therapy is eclectic, relational, and integrative, and I draw from modalities including Relational-Cultural Theory, Psychodynamic, DBT, CBT, Narrative, Parts Work, Existential, Attachment, Feminist & Social Justice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an Asian American woman, I am passionate about the integration of cultural sensitivity into mental health care. With Korean, Japanese, and Scottish-American roots, my multicultural background gives me a personal understanding of the complexities and importance of identity and belonging. I enjoy being in the mountains with my partner and our dog, Mandu (means "dumpling" in Korean), cooking family recipes with my mom, traveling and adventuring with my family, and spending sunny days in the park with my friends and community.
