About My Clients
I work with children, adolescents, and adults who need therapeutic services. I specialize in trauma, depression, life transitions, anxiety, stress, and communication improvement. I have weekend hours available as well as after school hours for children and working professionals who need appointments later in the evening. I currently am only doing telehealth and take private pay. I do sliding scale for those currently affected by the pandemic and financial hardships.
My Background and Approach
I have clinical experience in school-based therapy programs and received training in Social Skills Violence Prevention and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It is never too early to start therapy and children can greatly benefit from receiving support and guidance by both a parent or caregiver as well as a therapist. I am trained in Art Therapy which requires no art experience, and can help aid in the exploration and understanding of emotions, vulnerability, and life events. In therapy, I provide a safe and judgement free environment in which there is collaboration and open communication. I also strive to maintain a genuine connection by understanding what it is the client hopes to achieve or explore in therapy while providing unconditional positive regard.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are all the experts of our own stories in which we can find healing and empowerment. I know how scary it can be to start therapy and work through emotions and vulnerability because I have worked through many years of my own personal therapy. I believe in meeting the person where they are in their life and helping them with personal exploration, understanding their experiences are important, and being someone who not only listens, but someone who hears them. I make it a priority to connect with the community around me and volunteer for social justice issues I believe to be important in the pursuit of equality for all.
