About My Clients
People often come to psychotherapy after long-term frustrations, when they feel overwhelmed by a lack of possibility, in times of emotional pain, and when in a crisis. These feelings are addressed through a psychotherapeutic process in which people articulate aspects of experience they would not otherwise have a chance to explore. Through this process they not only make sense of symptoms and other forms of relational suffering, but foster increased freedom, creativity, and purpose.
My Background and Approach
I seek to create a space where a process of working with emotions, perceptions, narratives, fantasies, and dreams creates new possibilities for thinking, feeling, and acting in the world. This work often leads to the symptom relief that many seek through therapy, as well as increased understanding of self and how one wants to contribute to a human project. I have a background in both psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and in psychological anthropology, and experience working with adults, children, and couples.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am currently practicing from a psychodynamic/analytic perspective, which informs the way I understand personal experiences as shaped by cultural histories, economic conditions, family relationships, and forms of racism/prejudice & privilege. If you are ready to begin the journey of self-exploration and healing, take the first step and reach out, today.
