About My Clients
Due to my diverse professional experience, I am able to help others work through a large number of topics. With an extensive background in community based addiction and crisis services, I am an ideal clinician for those who are new to mental health and are just getting to know more about their mental health, no matter the diagnosis or stage of life you are in.
My Background and Approach
My expertise includes addressing psychological and social stressors such as life transitions, mood disorders, grief and loss, anger management, addiction, and relational concerns. Although I remain up to date on all major treatment modalities through continuing education and professional seminars, I find that by having a therapeutic foundation rooted in Humanistic/ Existentialism and merging it with techniques seen in strength based, solution focused and Mind/ Body approaches, clients are able to walk away with a more positive experience after each session. Practicing from an existential framework, I tailor treatment to meet you wherever you are on your personal journey, regardless of the issue that brings you to your first session. By focusing on the present, enhancing your existing skills, and integrating a mind-body approach, we will work together to achieve your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
To engage successfully in therapy, it is essential to be open and honest with oneself, a process that is greatly facilitated by partnering with a skilled clinician who can guide you on your journey. I believe that treatment is a collaborative process that happens with you and for you, not to you, placing you in control of your own journey. By creating a safe and open environment for self-exploration and empowering you with practical tools, I am confident that everyone has the ability to achieve their treatment goals.
