About My Clients
I have worked with a large variety of clients while I worked with families and their challenging teens that I have experience in a verity of areas. I am particularly good at working on issues related to trauma working through that. I like to start with hearing individual backgrounds and working on what might help someone I work collaboratively with couples, families and individuals to develop a plan for treatment. I know therapy and techniches but you are the expert of your life.
My Background and Approach
I have spent almost 20 years working with adolescents and their families, including working with individuals on parenting and trauma. I will adjust my approach to what you need and what makes you get the most out of therapy. We can start with what is your reason to start therapy and probably setting some short term goals that help with making any current situations feel better. then we can work on deeper or more difficult things. this is all done at your pace.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the potential of people and their potential grow and repair. I like to think of myself as a guide in the journey. Life can feel out of control and messy and i think that as a therapist my role is to help guide your own decisions and help you gain stability. Since i have worked with adolescents and their families I believe that young people have an immense capacity for change but need to be given opportunities to learn to a make decisions. I have found that listening to young people and letting them feel understood has helped them change and become more successful. I take this approach with my adult clients and families as well.
