Anxiety can appear in many forms and sometimes go unnoticed. Not all anxiety is “bad” and not all anxiety is “good.” I use specific therapeutic approaches to help you understand healthy from unhealthy stress, how it manifests in your life and body, and what we can do to reduce the unhealthy stress. I work closely with individuals who experience panic attacks and high levels of distress.

Depression can take on different forms and looks different for everyone. I use therapeutic treatments to help you disentangle your symptoms and help you get back to a more wholesome you. My passion is to de-stigmatize what depression, grief, bereavement, sadness, loneliness “should” look like and offer meaningful ways to understand what your body is trying to communicate with you. I take on a holistic approach and am creative with disentangling depressive symptoms.

As a devoted Christian, I know how important faith or a central spiritual presence is to well-being. I have been trained in specifically attending to how spirituality has impacted mental well-being in multiple religions/faiths without imposing my own views into my clients. I have worked with clients wanting to integrate spirituality and sexuality, those working through spiritual trauma, and those wanting to integrate spiritual practices in their lives.

Anxiety is complex and often serves as warning signs to us. Though I do not choose to look as anxiety as “bad,” I work with my clients to understand and gain awareness to how our body is communicating to us. I seek to help my clients understand what is healthy vs unhealthy anxiety and perfectionism. I also work with panic attacks and other forms of anxieties: social, relational, medical, stress, OCD, separation, and complex worries through developmental approaches.

Existential therapy is one of my favorite theoretical approaches because it’s so expansive. I believe we consistently grieve, mourn, and experience rebirths in our everyday lives. Somethings may be small and feel insignificant, others may feel life-changing. The ability to use our free will to make decisions and have agency can often feel scary, but in my treatment will often feel empowering.

Psychodynamic therapy is what it sounds like- dynamic and all encompassing of the mind, willpower, and emotions we hold within. Through this technique and theory, we journey through your history to see what has influenced your now. We look at patterns, relationships, and things you weren’t in control of to understand how you have evolved and how you want to continue evolving. We look at relationships with your past, present, others, and the versions of you to create a more authentic you now.

Gestalt therapy is one of my favorite styles of treatment! It allows me to help you unlock your creativity and help you confront, work through, and explore. This treatment offers freedom, awareness, and self-direction. We focus on the here-and-now while allowing the past and future desires to come alive in session. There are different techniques used within that help you break through stagnation and become a more authentic you.
