About My Clients
You're desperately searching for a therapist who have similar experiences as you. You're crippled with anxiety or unable to shake off this depression. You tried reading books, talking to family/friends, and burying yourself in work but nothing works long term. It's not culturally acceptable to engage in therapy but you don't know what else to do. I can help. My specialty and passion is working with Filipino and Asian Americans, adults with immigrant parents, and folks with chronic illness(es).
My Background and Approach
I’ve been privileged to work with clients in medical and mental health settings since 2011. I have mostly worked with young adults through older adults. I learn from my clients as much as they learn from me. My goal is to help you gain clarity, insight, and skills to move forward in your life. I use a psychodynamic framework with research-based modalities (CBT & AEDP) to help you reach your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’ve learned that a healthy therapeutic relationship with collaboration can promote trust, healing and growth. And fostering a safe and private space is necessary! People are resilient and can thrive in relationships with themselves, others and the world around them. I strongly believe in modeling healthy boundaries, effective direct communication, and healthy expression of emotions in order to break the cycle of emotional abuse. I believe colonialism have horribly impacted generations of people of color physically, mentally, and emotionally, whether we are aware or not. I think clients seeking therapy want to help stop these toxic cycles. I am also an LGBTQIA+ ally.
