My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience in high-acuity trauma settings, including inpatient psychiatric care, military trauma units, and community mental health. I've worked with first responders, combat veterans, survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, and individuals navigating complex PTSD. That depth of experience shapes how work. I'm trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Brainspotting -- two evidence-based approaches that target trauma at both the cognitive and nervous system level. I don't rely on one-size-fits-all techniques; I tailor treatment to what your mind and body actually need. My style is direct, warm, and collaborative. I'll be honest with you, move at a pace your system can handle, and stay focused on real progress -- not just managing symptoms. Clients often tell me they feel genuinely understood, sometimes for the first time. That's the foundation everything else is built on.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing is possible for everyone -- not as a platitude, but as something I've witnessed repeatedly in my work with people carrying some of the heaviest burdens imaginable. I believe trauma is not a character flaw or a sign of weakness. It's a normal response to abnormal experiences, and it deserves to be treated with both rigor and compassion. I believe the body keeps score. Real healing isn't just cognitive -- it requires working with the nervous system, not against it. That's why I integrate somatic and brain-body approaches alongside evidence-based therapy. And I believe the therapeutic relationship matters more than any technique. You should feel safe, respected, and genuinely seen in this space. When that foundation is in place, the work becomes possible -- and the change becomes lasting.
