About My Clients
I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults and millennials experiencing issues around life transition, depression and complex trauma. In our session together, we will have the opportunity to explore and process your experiences in a safe and nonjudgmental space and area using tools and interventions like EMDR, TF-CBT, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, DBT, Person Centered Therapy and Mindfulness.
My Background and Approach
I am an LCSW that holds a bachelors in Sociology and Anthropology and a masters degree in Social Work from Adelphi University in New York. My professional career provided me the opportunity to work with children, adolescents and adults, domestic violence survivors , youth and families in foster care, and worked closely with survivors of trauma. I am trained in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-CBT, Motivational Interviewing and EMDR which are modalities that allows me to work collaboratively and effectively, in my clients’ healing process in which I have had the pleasure of seeing change in the clients that I serve. My therapy style is strength based, motivating, authentic, supportive and real.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has a story and providing a secure platform to process and talk about your story is important to your healing process. In addition, we are going through uncertain times, COVID-19 and the racial disparities that we are experiencing and facing, have increased symptoms of depression and anxiety and it is even more important for me as a clinician to have a place to be free to express yourself, without the fear of being judged, ridiculed and dismissed.
