About My Clients
Many of my clients have anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, childhood abuse. Frequently, the clients I see are wanting to break free from: unhealthy relationships, overthinking, cycles of generational toxicity, unhealthy family members. Clients I see are seeking guidance in addressing relationship issues, whether it is family, friends or romantic partners, working on communication, conflict resolution skills and setting boundaries. Each one of my clients is on their own journey of healing.
My Background and Approach
I have experience in CBT, EMDR, solution focused modalities of therapy. My approach is to find what therapy approach or therapy model best meets each person's needs. Frequently, I find that healing is a journey and a person's healing doesn't have a right or wrong path but, simply a different path than expected. Coping skills are a key component to improving one's mental health. However, coping skills do not have to be cookie cutter, or the same for each client. Coping skills are most effective, when the client feels it is the right fit. For some, it seems understanding what trauma is, what abuse is, what neglect is and how they affect is a person is beneficial. For others, it might be processing the past trauma. Some clients, benefit from understanding trauma triggers and the source of them is beneficial. Decreasing one's anxiety or depression can come from a variety of sources, we will work together to determine the best course for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should be a safe, non-judgmental space to able to address what is most pressing for you. I believe progress is made with small successes, reaching the bigger victories. I value my clients being their true, natural selves in session. I believe telehealth, or virtual therapy, allows a client to meet in an environment, that is best for you, whether it is during a lunch break at work, in the comfort of one's own home. I believe pets can provide comfort and encouragement and allow cats and dogs to join the session as well.
