About My Clients
I help individuals and new moms who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relational conflicts, and stress. Especially now, you may be feeling the realities of anxiety, depression, and stress more than ever. The non-stop racing thoughts, feeling no energy to do what you want, feeling irritable, wanting to feel better but feeling like you are failing. I help individuals engage in personal exploration so they can find understanding, self love, and healing.
My Background and Approach
Therapy can be many things. The most important aspect is the change that happens. Change is hard—it will be messy and upsetting at times to unpack your personal pain. It is my goal to provide an environment that is established on trust, respect, and empathy. I consider you the expert of your story and journey, and it is my role to empower you to unpack the layers of your experiences. I approach counseling from a few counseling theories: Humanistic Counseling focuses on a client-centered approach that believes that we all possess our own unique ways of viewing the world. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help uncover distressing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; by increasing self-awareness, you will be able to identify areas of growth and build your coping and skillset to create new habits, thoughts, and behaviors. Through this lens, we will investigate core beliefs and the world around you that shape how you experience life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
There are many identities and roles that shape who I am as a person and a therapist. I am an imperfect wife and mom to a toddler and two elderly fur babies. I am a former high school teacher. I am a daughter and sister and cousin. I enjoy travel, especially to the mountains or any place that doesn’t look like Florida. I enjoy fun coffee shops and trendy restaurants. Humor and laughter are essential in my life and interactions with others, as is sunshine and 10 hours of sleep (which I never get). I am on a constant mission to increase my own self-awareness, self-love, and balance.
