Overtime I’ve learned vulnerability without blame is an effective means to communicate. “ How can I be vulnerable without blaming those who hurt me, those who I thought loved me, & those who I feel don’t understand me.” To simply put, you are the pattern and the solution. My Background and Approach
I understand the feeling of ineffective, hurtful communication patterns. How easy it is to feel like you are struggling, isolated, and anxious. Employing a combination of insight-oriented and evidence-based approaches, including Emotion-focused therapy (EFT),Gottman's method to couples therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Brief-Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) to help patients identify their stressors, while increasing personal, relational growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am someone shaped by life stressors and professional experiences. Growing up I was told the only way I can help an individual is by obtaining a career in the medical field. Mental health was never discussed. Yet, I strived to find my voice and master in a field I love. One of the most rewarding aspects of being a therapist is assisting my clients in finding their voice and using it. An act that can be defined as simple, but can be challenging. I value the systemic theoretical lens that I operate from because, I believe our environment influences our lifestyle daily, our decision-making process and the way we interact with the world around us.
