Anxiety is a protective response from our nervous system, which signals a perceived threat to our safety or well-being. I believe that by regulating our nervous system and building a sense of safety, we can decrease anxiety and better manage our responses to the daily demands of our environment.

Understanding our attachment history is essential for healing and growth. Our early attachment experiences shape our nervous system and affect our ability to regulate emotions, form healthy relationships, and cope with stress. By gaining insight into our attachment history, we can identify patterns of behavior and relationships that no longer serve us and work to change them. We can also learn how to cultivate secure attachment with ourselves and others.

I believe that all trauma is relational trauma because it is caused by experiences in relationships with others. Trauma can impact relationship dynamics, creating negative cycles of communication and behavior, which can further exacerbate the trauma. Therefore, healing often involves addressing and repairing relationships.

Along with completing various trainings and receiving supervision from a certified EFT therapist, I've also had the opportunity to experience EFT as a client. This firsthand experience has greatly enhanced my understanding and appreciation of the approach.

Trauma can manifest in the body as physical sensations, such as tension, pain, or numbness, which can be stored and held in the body long after the traumatic event has ended. Somatic therapy helps clients to become aware of these physical sensations, to regulate them, and to release the tension and stress held in the body.
