About My Clients
I work with individuals, couples and families who are seeking a different experience of themselves and their relationships. I love working with neurodivergent individuals and folks who are interested in exploring their neurotype. I work with all configurations of relationships and families, and many times will start with one person and then end up working with the whole family. I have lived experience with tough parenting journeys, including infertility and loss, and medically vulnerable kiddos.
My Background and Approach
I hold both an MBA in Entrepreneurship and an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have completed model-specific trainings in both traditional and somatic Internal Family Systems, Somatic EMDR, Emotionally-Focused Therapy for Couples and Families, AutPlay (for neurodivergent kids) and Sand Tray. I am a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, Certified Mindfulness and Meditation Coach and Ayurvedic Nutritionist. I also Founded, operated and sold The Fantasy Box, the premier subscription service for couples in the world. Because I believe that felt safety is at the heart of a successful change process, I built a one-of-a-kind therapy yurt among the trees in Gig Harbor, WA so that we may leverage the innate regulating and healing powers of nature. As you can likely guess from my training and background, I blend the power of thinking and science with slow, mindful, embodied experience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in equality among all living beings. I have a particular passion for increasing integration and self-belief in populations that have been othered, such as the neurodivergent, disabled, LGBTQIA , gender and racial minority communities. As a multiply neurodivergent woman (Autistic and Gifted), married to a neurotypical man, and parenting a non-speaking Autistic child with a PDA profile, I relate deeply to how difficult it can be to prioritize your personal needs, partnership needs, and parenting needs...it always feels like something is getting dropped. When you have a very sensitive sensory system, it's even harder (and also more important) to learn how to listen inside, communicate your needs from a place of empowerment, and believe positive things about yourself vs. the societal narratives you might have inherited. No matter what struggles are bringing you into therapy, with me, you will always find a warm heart and a listening, non-judgmental mind. I hope we can connect.
