About My Clients
The people I work with care deeply about authenticity, justice, and connection and are often wanting to work on practicing boundaries, and holding space for themselves. We do this together with a focus on embodiment, re-parenting themselves, and feeling out the shape of their particular needs. The majority of my clients are neurodiverse and within the LGBTQIA community.
My Approach to Helping
My work focuses on deepening my client's connection to themselves, usually in an embodied way. I have extensive experience working with queer and trans folks. I am really thrilled to work with folks working on unlearning enmeshment, practicing boundaries, developing skills in inhabiting their bodies, and addressing trauma with a variety of relational and evidence-based practices. Clients have described my style as playful, direct, and resourced- I often have a book, article, or blog post that I want to send to my clients so they can continue their exploration outside of session! I often use humor to connect with my clients, but always with an eye toward supporting deeper connection with themselves. My therapy practice uses a feminist and anti-oppression framework to help people address and heal from trauma and oppression we face in our everyday lives. I have training in several different trauma healing modalities to support the diverse needs my clients bring to our work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My therapy practice emphasizes the strengths my clients are already utilizing and understand where these strengths emerged from. This means I will work with you to understand the ways you have already been supporting your own wellbeing and survival, and foster growth in new directions. I believe everyone has the capacity to heal. I trust my client’s intuition to explore the direction of their healing and growth.
