About My Clients
You've been strong for a long time. Maybe so long you can't remember what it felt like not to be. This is a space to understand where that started, and to reclaim yourself without being asked to abandon the people you love. I work with individuals who are outwardly capable and inwardly exhausted, who have spent years trying to figure out what is wrong with them, not yet knowing that what they're carrying has a history.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and board-certified art therapist (ATR-BC), with additional certification as a National Certified Counselor and Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor. My work centers on complex trauma, burnout, attachment wounds, and the intergenerational patterns that shape how we cope long before we understand where they came from. My approach is relational and trauma-informed, integrating neuroscience, art therapy, and cultural context, not as separate techniques, but as different ways of understanding the same nervous system. I don't rush toward symptom relief before we understand what the symptom has been protecting. What this means for you: we move at a pace that respects how long these patterns took to form. We look at what's happening in your body and thinking, not just what you're saying. And we build toward real, lasting change, not a quick fix that leaves the underlying pattern untouched.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing is relational, it happens in connection, not in isolation, and not on command. Process is the medicine, not the obstacle to it. I don't believe in rushing someone past what they haven't finished understanding yet. I also believe ethics require context. The same behavior can be a wound or a strength depending on where it came from, and I try never to pathologize what once kept someone safe. Faith and psychology aren't in conflict for me. I integrate an Islamic lens with clients for whom that's relevant, though my practice is not faith-exclusive, I work with people across all backgrounds and belief systems. I also hold a decolonial, culturally responsive lens, especially with clients navigating immigrant, first-generation, or high-achievement family systems where the pressure to perform often gets mistaken for the absence of suffering. Achievement does not cancel suffering. And slowing down, even when everything around you says to hurry, is strength, not failure.
