About My Clients
I work closely with clients who are twice-exceptional (2e)- those who are both gifted and navigating ADHD, autism, or other learning differences. My clients often struggle to reconcile their high achieving identity with the executive functioning, emotional regulation, and social connectedness challenges that they experience. This discrepancy can lead to frustration, shame, and a fractured sense of self.
My Background and Approach
My undergraduate experience is an eclectic blend of psychology, philosophy, social justice, and criminology. I obtained my masters degree in social work from the University of Cincinnati. My work experience spans from school based therapy to hospital social work, giving me a unique insight into the larger systems with which clients interact. Stemming from my own experience living with ADHD, I have a passion for working with neurodivergent clients, particularly those who are twice-exceptional. I have completed focused training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and best practices for working with neurodivergent clients. My approach to therapy is warm but clinical, balancing validation and self-acceptance with problem-solving and interventions targeted for change.
