Are your relationships or your life feeling like a bummer? Do you doubt yourself hard? Maybe even shoot yourself in the foot and avoid striving for the kind of life you actually want? If you're here, you're probably sick of beating yourself up and shooting yourself down before you can even try to do better. You might feel drained, bogged down, or haunted by some awful thing that happened in your past and struggle to move past it. Putting yourself out there is TERRIFYING, but you're ready!
My Background and Approach
You're ready: to feel more in charge of your life, to have rock solid confidence in your judgement and abilities, to heal (or conquer) anything that's been getting in your way, and to feel more content, happy, and at peace! You're ready to wake up feeling lighter and enjoying how your life will flow more easily through our work together. Watch out, goals! I'm trained in all kinds of modalities and especially love working with veterans, trauma, college students, maddening relationship cycles that you want to break free from, and folks who would identify as people pleasers. If you've ever felt like you had to make yourself small to keep a relationship, I am the therapist for you. I will help you live the life YOU want, not the life that others expect you to live. You might also be someone who's not entirely sure what you want or where you're going, but you know it sure as heck has got to be better than where you were. You're done being stuck and shackled.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that so many of us grow up doubting ourselves and questioning, "Am I inconvenient? Am I annoying?" or even "I'm expecting too much. Who do I think I am, the Queen of Sheba?" So often, we look to others for approval to get a sense of whether we're good enough in one way or another, but then become accustomed to a life of walking on eggshells, always looking outside ourselves to feel like we're okay. We forget to be loyal to ourselves and to take advantage of the time we have on this planet to do everything we've always wanted to do. I am here for you folks who have been neglecting your own wants and needs in friendships, dating, goals, career prospects, and even health. I'm here to help you figure out how to get where you want to be and to supply the tools necessary to make the voyage. I am also a member of the LGBT community and a veteran. I have a soft spots for folks who also belong to these communities and have extensive experience working with my fellow veterans.
