About My Clients
If you're a rebel who craves a space where your shadow and your light are both welcome, you’re in the right place. If you have been told you're “too much,” "too emotional," “too angry,” or “too complicated,” thank you for being here. Whether you're navigating pleasure, sex, shame, relationships, rage, grief, identity, intimacy, or trying to find collective healing in an individualistic, capitalist hellscape, I am ready to swim alongside you - no matter how turbulent the waters.
My Background and Approach
My name is Maria (she/her) and I am a queer, neurodivergent, first-generation Filipinx therapist who specializes in the beautifully complex parts of the human experience: sex and kink, decolonial healing, shadow work, and couples work. Therapy with me is collaborative, culturally-rooted, holistic, and deeply affirming. I’m not here to fix you. I’m here to walk beside you as you reclaim what’s been stolen, silenced, or shamed. My work is deeply rooted in social justice, sex-positivity, the mind-body connection, and collective liberation. With these systemic intersections in mind, I understand that there is no "one-size fits all" for therapy, thus making sure your healing is tailored to you is of utmost importance to me. I also have a background in teaching sex/kink education for adults and a background in intimacy coordination so I am used to talking about the "taboo" topics. What else can you expect from me in therapy? Humor, empathy, and plenty of curiosity.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should be a space of liberation, not assimilation. The Western mental health field was not built with QTBIPOC folks in mind, and too often, it pathologizes our pain while ignoring the systems that cause it. As a queer, first-gen, neurodivergent Filipinx woman, I know what it means to feel unseen, misdiagnosed, and told to shrink. That lived experience fuels my commitment to decolonial, anti-oppressive care that centers our rage, grief, joy, and ancestral knowing. I don’t see my work as “fixing” anyone - I see it as walking alongside those who’ve been made to feel like too much, not enough, or inherently broken. We’re not. You're not. We are surviving systems that were never designed for us to thrive in. My practice is a space to unlearn, relearn, to feel fully, and to begin healing on your own terms.
