About My Clients
I have had the opportunity to work with children, as young as five, to adolescents, couples, families and individuals who are seeking therapy. I have worked with clients struggling with marital conflict, depression, anxiety, OCD, personality disorders, and ADHD. No matter what brings someone into therapy, we always look at the system around them that may contribute to their struggle and also where there are opportunities to draw strength and support from it.
My Background and Approach
I primarily practices Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), helping clients identify core emotions, recognize negative interaction patterns, and cultivate healthier, more secure communication dynamics. I work with couples, families, and individuals through a systems-oriented lens, recognizing that people both influence and are influenced by the relational systems around them. This perspective allows me to support clients in creating lasting, relationally grounded change. I have a particular interest in working with first responders and their families. Inspired by my personal experience as the spouse of a frontline healthcare professional, I understand the unique stressors associated with high-demand service roles. I supports clients in processing the emotional weight of their professional responsibilities while navigating transitions into their roles as partners, parents, children, and friends. I view seeking therapy as an act of courage and consider it a privilege to work with you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs are grounded in Christianity. I continue to grow in my faith daily and know how important someone's beliefs are to their overall health. I have worked with people from all different faith backgrounds, or no interest in faith at all. I encourage discussion about beliefs in therapy to understand if a client draws strength from that area of life, but do not expect that a client holds the same beliefs as I do or focus on that if it is not important to the client.
