About My Clients
I work with adults and adolescents who experience anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, and attachment and relationship difficulties. Many of my clients feel stuck in recurring emotional or relationship patterns, even when they understand them intellectually. Together, we work toward greater self-understanding, emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and lasting change.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed psychologist with more than a decade of clinical experience and training across Mexico, Spain, England, and the United States. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and as a researcher and professor. This background helps me understand complex concerns from different perspectives and explain what may be happening in a clear, compassionate, and practical way. My experience with anxiety, trauma, complex PTSD (C-PTSD), attachment, ADHD, and autism helps me recognize when symptoms overlap or may have been misunderstood. Rather than applying one approach to everyone, I tailor therapy to your needs by drawing from psychodynamic and attachment-based therapy, EMDR, MBT, and DBT. This allows us to combine deeper understanding with practical tools for emotional regulation, trauma processing, and lasting change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that many symptoms and patterns began as ways of protecting us. When we understand where they came from and how they continue to appear in our lives and relationships, we can approach them with less fear and self-judgment. Insight is important, but it is not always enough to create change. I believe therapy works best when understanding is combined with practical tools, emotional and somatic processing, and a trusting therapeutic relationship.
