About My Clients
I have experience working with individuals and teens through life transitions, troubles in school, involvement with legal systems, navigating peer issues or family conflict, and addressing feelings and/or stressors. I want to be a collaborator in creating a life worth living for whoever my clients may be.
My Background and Approach
I use a collaborative relational approach. I reject saviorism and believe that you are the expert on your own life. I prioritize autonomy and want to provide the care that you need, not that I think you need. When approaching a client’s needs, I listen first, and act second. My goal is not to tell you what to do, but to collaborate with you in finding the answers to your own questions and in how we can best support you in a journey towards better mental health or well-being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Many wounds follow us from childhood to adolescence and adulthood. Through working to heal my own past wounds, I have found a passion in collaborating with others, teens, families, and individuals alike, to heal theirs as well. I care deeply about racial justice, systemic oppression, the LGBTQ+ community, and liberatory work. We are all humans, and dignity is something you will never have to earn with me. Though therapy is not the only step a person can take to work towards their goals, having a therapist that works for you can make such a huge difference and I would love to make that a reality for you!
