My Background and Approach
I use evidence based practices such as; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Practices. I also use survey measures to track progress and client satisfaction for efficient treatment. My role in your healing journey is to support you in finding the treatment that would best fit your needs and goals. In the first few sessions you can expect us to dive into your history, goals, upbringing, and current challenges to get a clear picture of who you are and what your needs are. Once we establish a treatment plan we get to work, applying skills that will help you manage the racing thoughts, overthinking, trouble sleeping, worries, lack of motivation and more. Then we work on the chunk of treatment which looks like challenging the negative thoughts and beliefs you have internalized about yourself as well as completing homework outside of our therapy sessions so that you can practice your skills.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a first-generation Latina, I understand the stigma that comes with asking for mental health support. My goal is to dismantle that stigma, therapy is not only for crisis moments. Anyone can benefit from self-reflection, healthy stress management skills or communication skills. I believe everyone deserves to have a safe space where they are heard and understood.
