About My Clients
Are you going through a life transition? Are you finding it hard to cope with life's curve balls? I best work with people who are trying to improve their self-esteem, deal with grief or loss, and adjust to life's challenges. I support clients in learning their own strengths and new skills so that they can show up as their authentic self in life. There are evidenced-based tools that I can help you learn so that you feel more in control and confident in your own abilities.
My Background and Approach
I utililize a Health at Every Size approach to help clients learn about the available research on body diversity. In addition to teaching information, I help clients practice the tools that help heal their relationship with themselves through an intuitive eating approach and by finding movement that is enjoyable and feasible.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy can save lives when therapists understand their role in the system, such as knowing when clients need an ally, an advocate, or referrals. As a white cis-female therapist, I hold a lot of privilege in my role as a therapist and I loathe the ideas that therapy spaces have a long history of being unhelpful to people of color, appropriating modalities from other cultures, or misunderstanding clients. I believe clients are experts and therapeutic work is teamwork. I absolutely love the relationships that the therapy space allows for! I show up as my authentic self in hope that you will feel comfortable showing up as your authentic self as well.
