About My Clients
I work with people navigating life with ADHD, those healing from trauma, and high-achievers looking to find balance. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply want someone to support you in reaching your goals, I’m here to help. I specialize in working with first-generation professionals, parents, and those who want to better understand themselves and their experiences. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can feel empowered to heal, grow, and thrive.
My Background and Approach
I’m Maria, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with years of experience helping people navigate life’s challenges. I hold a master’s degree in counseling from SDSU and have worked in outpatient psychiatry, perinatal mental health, and crisis settings. I specialize in trauma, ADHD, and helping people find balance in their busy lives. As someone who has personally experienced ADHD and trauma, I understand how tough it can feel to navigate the world, and I use my insights to create a safe, supportive space for you to grow. My approach combines practical tools with an understanding of how your brain and body work, so you can feel empowered to make meaningful changes. I’ve worked with individuals, parents, and families in diverse communities, and I tailor therapy to meet your unique needs. Whether you're looking to heal from the past, manage the present, or build a brighter future, I’m here to help you uncover your strengths and create a life you love.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m proud to give back to the community that has shaped me by offering workshops at schools serving historically disadvantaged communities. As a bilingual therapist, I provide these workshops in both English and Spanish, focusing on empowering families and sharing knowledge to help them navigate life’s challenges. My workshops often center around parenting skills, managing stress, and building resilience—practical tools families can use to create more harmony and connection at home. I’m especially passionate about supporting the Latino community, including first-generation immigrants, because I understand how overwhelming it can feel to navigate new systems and cultural shifts. These workshops are my way of giving back and honoring the strength, resilience, and rich cultural values of our community. By sharing what I’ve learned, I hope to make mental health support more accessible and help families feel seen, heard, and equipped to thrive.
