About My Clients
My clients come from all walks of life, backgrounds, and experiences. Some are struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma, while others are seeking support and guidance through life transitions or difficult relationships. Despite their differences, what all my clients have in common is a willingness to explore their thoughts and emotions, and a desire to find healing and growth. I am continually humbled by their courage resilience, and willingness to engage in the therapeutic process.
My Background and Approach
My approach is collaborative and personalized, which means that we will work together to create a customized treatment plan that is tailored to your unique needs, preferences, and goals. I believe that therapy is a partnership, and that the therapeutic relationship is a key component of the healing process. Therefore, I will work hard to build a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental relationship with you, so that you feel safe, seen, and heard throughout our work together. With a Master's in Clinical Social Work and specialized trainings such as EMDR, Somatic therapy, parts work, Cross-Cultural Care, and Adoption Competency, I bring a unique perspective to therapy. I have worked in private practice and hospitals, treating acute mental health crises, and conducted research in neuroscience and psychology. As an adoptee, international transplant, and feminist, my personal experiences inform my practice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a mental health therapist with a unique background and perspective. As an adoptee and international transplant who has lived in five different countries on three different continents, I have a deep appreciation for the complexities of identity, cultural adaptation, and emotional resilience. I hold a Master's in Clinical Social Work from Portland State University and have extensive training in EMDR, clinical and normative issues within adult adoptee populations, cross-cultural care in mental health, and neurosciences. My diverse experiences have shaped my approach to therapy. My personal background as an adoptee, an international transplant, and a feminist has given me a unique perspective on the challenges that individuals face as they navigate life's many transitions and traumas. I believe that everyone tries their best to thrive, and that old wounds and life circumstances can make it difficult. Through therapy, we can tap into our inner power to heal and find peace.
