Mari Stevens (She/Her)

I spent my youth not understanding how to navigate the difficult parts of life. School was challenging and boring and my stress levels were high. I understand struggle and can walk beside you to figure things out. I have spent my adult life supporting kids and families as a teacher and a school counselor. ​I am able to listen and sift through the difficult feelings and help figure out paths and solutions. I have extensive experience and education and have a deep understanding of the developmental aspects of growth. I use evidence-based strategies to help teens and adults create motivation and success for themselves and can give you hope about the future. I am direct and action-oriented. We will work together and grow.

I believe that all people have it within themselves to be better. Everything we say and do is communicating something. We spend our life trying to find things that speak to us and help us be content and happy. Instead of blaming and shaming - I want to help figure out solutions. I am an ally and an advocate and I have been an advisor for our Gay Straight Alliance and Black Student Union Clubs at our school. Through my own therapy, I have learned so many tools that help me every day. I am continually learning and growing and bring that into my practice.
