About My Clients

You are not a walking problem, and there is more to life than coping. I imagine that (rightfully so) you're in this search because you're looking for a way out of your suffering. Great! I'd like to suggest that you can find even more: a greater connection to yourself, and a life truly worth living. I tend to work with people who haven't gotten what they need from therapy by changing their mindset. When trauma gets stuck in the body, the only way "out" is through a deeper connection with self.

My Background and Approach

What got me through the other end of my own journey was paying attention to what works and what doesn't, and making the effort to heal the root cause of my issues. This is the mentality that informs my practice. I absolutely believe that thoughts can be powerful, but I find that life becomes less of an uphill battle when therapy touches the emotional core of where those maladaptive thoughts stemmed from in the first place. My downstream, "bottom-up" approach is built upon the premise of Somatic Experiencing (Beginning I trained), Parts Therapy, and Emotion-focused Therapy. When trauma leaves us fractured with a warped sense of reality, we are asked to listen and be with ourselves on an even deeper level.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My strongest personal belief which I put quite a lot of trust in is that of self actualization. I believe that the world can be a better place if we all grow to be more of who we really are. I am not focusing my practice on any particular population right now but give a lot of credence to the ripple effect that can come from a diverse population of people healing and owning their authenticity in a bigger way. In the past, I have been especially passionate about indigenous cultures and I still have a lot of heart for the different faces of that cause (although it's admittedly very complex). Today, I challenge myself to be open-minded towards all perspectives with the goal of genuinely understanding. *Truly everything friendly.*
