About My Clients
You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, lonely, anxious, or simply aware that something in your life needs to change. I work with adults of all ages who want a safe place to talk openly, understand themselves more deeply, and find practical ways forward. Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. We can explore patterns, relationships, life transitions, grief, meaning, and the parts of you that may feel conflicted or unheard.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than three decades of experience helping adults with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, caregiving, aging, and questions of meaning and purpose. My approach is warm, active, and practical. I draw from psychodynamic therapy, CBT, behavioral strategies, Internal Family Systems concepts, and other insight-oriented approaches, depending on what fits the individual. I am also an ordained Interfaith Contemplative Minister with training in spiritual direction and Jungian dream work. Spirituality can be part of therapy if it matters to you, but it never has to be religious. I listen carefully, ask questions, point out patterns, and offer new ways of looking at things. My goal is to help you understand yourself more clearly, feel less stuck, and make choices that fit who you are.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people make sense when you understand enough of their story. I do not see people as diagnoses, problems, or collections of symptoms. I believe change is possible, but not usually through shame, pressure, or being told what to do. It comes through understanding, honesty, curiosity, and trying something different. I also believe meaning matters. For some people that includes spirituality or religion; for others it may come through relationships, creativity, nature, service, or simply living in a way that feels true to who they are. I respect those differences. I value compassion, humor, personal responsibility, and the ability to question old assumptions. I believe therapy should help people become more fully themselves, not turn them into someone else.
