About My Clients

I specialize working with individuals who desire to dedicate less time and energy to food and body image concerns, and more time to aspects of life truly important to them. I work from a Health at Every Size (HAES) platform. My clients also present with anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, life transitions, athletic identity loss, and relational struggles.

My Background and Approach

I work with my clients using an integrated approach to therapy that is both relational and behavioral in nature. I incorporate Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Interpersonal Process Therapy paradigms into therapy. I also incorporate feminist theory and Dialectical Behavior Therapy into my work. Underlying each of these approaches are client-centered compassion, collaboration, authenticity, and cultural humility. I earned my BA in Psychology and my MA and PhD in Counseling Psychology from Texas Tech University. I completed my clinical training in a variety of settings including TTU’s counseling center, an ADHD/LD assessment center, a private practice, and community mental health. I completed my APA-accredited doctoral internship at CU Boulder’s Counseling & Psychiatric Services (CAPS) where I served on the Eating Concerns Team. My postdoctoral residency was at a group practice in Denver providing outpatient eating disorder care.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I value and enjoy working with diverse populations and strive to create a safe space for individuals of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities. With regard to eating and body concern work, I stand by the values of the HAES platform and believe body size does not equate to health and that we should celebrate diversity; including body diversity. I also believe it is important for me to acknowledge privileges I hold so that we can form a trusting, honest relationship that acknowledges aspects of your world that I may not have experience personally. While we may not share identities or experiences, it is my mission as your therapist to approach our work with humility and to gain understanding of your authentic self.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
